Time and Punishment

Courage?

Do you know how the fire in my heart

quivers at your touch?

How the bellows in my chest quicken?

To claim on my lips your breath,

the same you stole from me.

Your eyes lay bare my hunger,

the wandering years.

To draw you close

To take your lip between my teeth

Would I find you

ravenous too?

Feel the taut music in my fingers as they played across your skin?

If I fell,

would you sing of flight?
