The Principal of Non-contradiction

I wish I knew a way to show you without pushing you away
But
The truth of the matter is I cannot hold the words of praise you give
While I may
Nod and speak to the truth of what you say
I am caught forever in the place between
Your perception and my own
Relativity, makes with its right hand but unmakes with the left
You see
Me lighting beacons in the night to guide others home safely in a storm
And cutting back the overgrowth of cluttered hearts
Perhaps gardens might be planted
And I love that for you
I love you for that
But
I wish I knew a way to show you without pushing you away
That every fire sparked at night is a love letter to a universe
I parted with before I even knew to know
And how that unrequited love burned a hollow in me slow
That that flame you warm yourself beside is a pyre I light in the name of a passion I lost before I ever knew to look
And I’m just trying to find the strength to let it go
So please, understand if you can
I’m not saying that you’re wrong
Only that, neither am I
That you found beauty but what it was for you was not for me
You see
Relativity
