The Forest Knew Your Name

As a child of the world I went wandering

seeking wisdom, seeking compass

From the eldest I could find on land and see

I made pilgrimage to mountains

made my alters on the beaches

Listened closely to the wind and to the trees

I told them of my longing

Of my homeless wandering heart

and laid it at their feet in meadow's dew

For timeless days I spoke to

All those ancients, begging guidance

And they only ever spoke to me of you
